Before you head off exploring DBI for the first time, this
short frequently asked questions page is designed to give you a head
start in the game.
Before you ask about equipment: Don't worry about it! Most starting
areas provide equipment from shops or from the mobs themselves. If
you really feel like you need equipment, most higher powerlevel Kaio
players can make you a set - Ask the people online if anyone can
make you Kaio gear!
Weapons! What about weapons?: Weapons are aesthetic in nature, and
provide stat bonuses but no extra melee rolls or damage. "Weapon"
races such as Konatsu, or Ghetti, have increased melee damage when
wielding a weapon to make up for this lack of bonus.
And what about your abilities: Your abilities are going to be hard
to start training, but don't give up! The more you use an ability,
the better you get at it, raising its % to succeed. You will need to
discover your skills and abilities with our new skilltree feature.
See 'help skilltree' for more info! Remember: with the stats changes
INTelligence still exists but as a hidden stat. You will raise
your skills at a semi-linear rate. They should be easier to raise at
low percents, and take a little longer to fully master to 100%. To
practice your skills, find a training master (there is often one in
each area). Some skills will require race specific trainers: Think
who used the skill in the show, and they're most likely the trainer
you need to find! You will need to search for them, so get looking!
What about my stats: We have removed Gravity Training for your
stats from the game! Rejoice! You will now gain stats naturally from
doing things that correspond to the stats; using physical abilities
will increase your STR faster than your SPD. The combat style that
you're in will also affect how your stats increase. Read the
'help stat' and 'help style' helpfiles.
How do I ask mobs questions: A common mistake among new players is
to use the ASK command to interact with mobs (NPCs). The ASK command
is actually a shortcut for the '(QUESTION) Channel', where you can
ask other players for help with the game. To interact with mobs,
instead use the SAY command.
What's this Newbie Council guy do: They will give you a Newbie
Transport Capsules that will bring you right back to LEGENDE if you
get lost while exploring - these capsules will only work until you
reach 1 million base powerlevel though! To get one, simply
say capsule.
What happens when I die: We have removed PL/TL losses from deaths
and flees. Instead, you will receive a pl reduction for a period of
time. Listen to King Yemma to leave the afterlife.
Former and current players have created a resource outside of DB:I
to assist in the game. The resource can be found in 'help notebook'.
For the next step in our beginners tutorial, which covers beginner
areas, see 'help newbieareas'.
