With the inception of racial ranks into DBI, the showrank and
claimrank commands are an automated way of obtaining an open rank.
Show Rank
Showrank <race> will list all the ranks of whichever rank
you choose. It will let you know if any ranks are available, and if
there are none available. It also lets you know when the last time a
rank holder was on, giving you an idea when you could claim the rank
yourself. It will also tell you if the player is online now,
Hardcore or not, giving you the chance to try and kill them for the
rank!
Claim Rank
If there are any open ranks for your race, just typing 'claimrank
<rankname>' will give you that rank. Keep in mind you may need
to contain your rank within single quotes, i.e. claimrank 'supreme
kai'. Be warned however, with racial ranks comes people hunting you
for the coveted position you hold, so keep with your training or you
will lose it.
Rank Kill
To claim a racial rank already taken by another player, you must
challenge them, or seek them out and assassinate them, and use
'rankkill <character>'. A PK fight will begin, the winner taking or
keeping the rank. Rankkill overrides pk timers and flags.
