RANKRULES
Keywords: RANKRULES
With the inception of racial ranks comes the rules and foundations for
using them. Below are the rules to claiming, holding, and keeping racial
ranks.
1: Do not claim a rank without intention of keeping it. Do not claim a
rank specifically for the purpose of preventing another player from
claiming it. Do not repeatedly idle out claimed ranks within a short
period of time.
2: Do not hold ranks if you are not playing the character who claimed
them. Do not use an autologger to reset your rank timer while you are
away (autologgers are illegal, and will get you banned/destroyed
anyway). Do not log a character in for short periods of time to avoid
being challenged while keeping your rank.
3: Do not hold racial ranks with more than one character.
4: Respond promptly and properly when challenged for your rank. The
rules for racial rank challenges are listed below:
A: If challenged by a player who is one rank below you, you may not
refuse the challenge on any grounds. You must report immediately to the
specified location. Unranked characters are considered to be directly
below holders of the lowest racial ranks.
B: If challenged by a player two or more ranks below you, you may refuse
only if you are currently completing a quest or an immortal event. Note
that simply camping a drop does not constitute a quest. Only certain
areas, such as the Darkhaven quest, are actually considered quests for
the purposes of rank challenges. If you are unsure whether you are on a
quest, feel free to ask an immortal. Also note that even if you refuse a
challenge, a challenger may legally hunt you down on his/her own and
rankkill you for your title. Many immortal events are PK-free, and thus
you may not be hunted while participating in these.
C: Anyone may refuse a challenge if there is an unoccupied rank of the
same name.
D: To challenge someone for their rank, use the wartalk channel to
announce a challenge, then send a tell with a location. Do not announce
the location of a rank challenge on any public channel.
E: Once challenged, do not purposely kill yourself to avoid losing your
rank.
Rank challenges are 1vs1. Only the rank holder and challenge are to
participate. Other players must not take advantage of of the PK.
To claim a racial rank from someone else, the challenger must use the
rankkill command on the current rank holder.
As with any rules, if you see players breaking the racial rank rules,
report them to an immortal. Players caught breaking these rules will be
punished at the discretion of the immortal who catches them.
