              THE BEINGS HUNGRY FOR POWER AND EVOLUTION

Though the Android race was born from the divine energies of the Sparks,
their terrifying counterpart are nothing but an abomination of science and
chance.

The first Bio-Androids were brought into this world thousands of years ago
when a solar storm from the nearby stars of Insignia V caused the ancient
foundries of the planet to suddenly power down and cease their production
until the disturbance had been weathered.  Unfortunately, the Android race
had never experienced a time when the foundries had gone quiet, and feared
that the Sparks of Divinity had abandoned them.  In needless desperation,
the Android council fed energy directly from their power cores into the
ancient machines, stirring them back to life with only their own fragmented
Life Code to pass on to this next generation.  The result of this was
nothing less than a Frankenstein of living machine.  A soulless husk of
metal that hungered for the remaining text of the Life Code.

The danger of these 'Husk' androids was not immediately present, and thus
they infiltrated Android society unnoticed.  When the solar storm passed,
and the foundries once again began to activate and continue their great
work, the Husks had become a forgotten footnote.

The power cores of these androids quickly devolved, and the Husks began to
mercilessly kill and feed on the cores of their brethren.  What ensued
afterward became known as the Cleansing, as the planet was stripped bare
under a scorching inquisition.  The Husks were driven into hiding or forced
to flee Insignia V to the deep corners of the stars, but while they had
been driven back, they had not been defeated.  These monstrous machines
soon began to evolve in ways that the Androids could have never predicted,
and their hunger for the Life Code became so insatiable that they began to
devour even organic beings in search of it.  A mockery of evolution of
advanced science slowly transformed the Husks from synthetic beings into
ravenous organic simulacrums.

Now the Bio-Androids stalk the stars as murderous predators searching for
the evolutionary jump that will transform them into complete beings.

Special note: Bio-Androids have been given a unique background and
homeworld in the Dragonball: Infinity roleplay setting, however, you
are welcome to roleplay a Bio-Android character whose origins are more
consistent with the series such as Cell.
