PUNISHMENT Keywords: PUNISHMENT Below is a list of common crimes and their MAXIMUM punishments. Anything not listed here is wholly up to the discretion of the administration. Botting: - First offense: Destruction of the offending character - Second offense: 30 day ban and deletion of all characters Multi-Line Macros:TBD based on severity, 2 weeks+ DT or deletion Player Harassment: - if verbal: 24 - 48 hour silence - if physical: 24 - 48 hours in hell Bug Abuse: depends on severity of bug (see level 60+ imm for ruling) Ban Evasion: banning of new IP(s), existing bans doubled Spamming: - if socials and emotes: 7 days noemote and/or 24 - 48 hours in hell - if channels: 12 hour silence - if boards: 21 days nognote Punishment Evasion: 7 day ban Disrespecting an Admin: 24 - 48 hour silence and/or 24 - 48 hour hell - if extreme disrespect is shown, a 7 day ban may be issued Player Bashing: - if minor, i.e. "You're an idiot", etc., 5 - 60 minute silence - if severe, i.e. "You're a f****** f*****", etc., 6 - 48 hour silence Multiplaying: deletion of characters involved, 30 day ban Scamming: name placed on the scammer list, 30 day ban. Zeni/EQ may be taken, depending on severity of scam Linkdead Abuse: 1 week in hell Racism or Discrimination: 6 - 48 hour silence, 7 days in hell - Discrimination includes race, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual preference, nationality, culture, etc. Swearing in gnotes: - if moderate amount and non-abusive: 7 days nognote - if heavy amount and/or abusive: 14 days nognote, 48 hours in hell Public Accusation of Rule Breaking: 2 hour silence - If you wish to alert the admins of someone you think may be botting, or breaking any other rules, contact the admins over the Admin channel. Do not use public channels for any accusations. Proxying: 30 day ban and deletion of characters involved Timers: depending on the use of the timer, punishment will range from a 24 hour helling all the way through a 30 day ban. Advertising: Advertisement of other MUDs is strictly prohibited on all channels. Punishment for advertising is up to 2 hours silence Asking Immortals for Favours: 12 hour silence, 24 hour helling - If you've already been silenced, and can no longer get to a certain place, too bad. It's all part of learning not to break rules. Disobeying RP Content: 12 hour silence, 12 hour helling, deauth of chat channel. - Depends on severity of situation and attitude when asked to stop. Idling: Forced to 'quit'. Repeat offenders will eventually be banned. Harassment based on PK status or lack thereof: Silence - While harassment of other players is unacceptable in any case, this specific type of harassment has become wide spread, and deserves mention note in this helpfile. The duration of the silence is up to the immortal who gives it. Punishments not listed here are to the admin's own discretion. Admin's also have the authority to exceed the punishments stated, though not beyond reason, if they feel it is appropriate. In general, the only reasons the punishments would be more severe are for the reasons below. Repeat offenders can expect their punishments to increase each time. Criminal record will also be taken into account when punishments are given. For example, if you have two accounts of player harassment, an account of admin disrespect, and an account of linkdead abuse, and then you evade punishment, you can expect the ban to be longer than just seven days. All punishments are commented in your player file and can only be seen by administrators. Although we may be strict, we are not without heart.
