Cartomancy
Cartomancy is the new main mechanic for Kanassians. Typing "Cartomancy"
will give you a readout of most of the mechanics as well as your current
stats in Cartomancy.
TLDR: Draw Cards do Stuff. If you just keep drawing and playing you'll
level up and do things.
"Cartomancy help" will show you all available commands for using the
ability.
Divination is the new resource that a Kanassian builds by dodging and
defeating enemies. When it reaches 100 you are able to 'draw' a card and
gain a buff.
Each drawn card will increase your timer by 6 minutes, and when you have
a full hand of 5, the timer resets to 30 minutes regardless of what your
current timer is at. This is to let you play out a full hand.
Drawing a card will draw the card as upright or reverse. A reverse card
will apply the opposite worse effect, but in some cases is just a
different buff. Your chance to draw an upright card increases as your
Cartomancy % goes up. Some actions will reduce this amount. It will
slowly trend back towards 50%.
Each card, reverse or upright, will increase your dodge chance. This
special dodge is a "future sight dodge" and will raise your divination
faster.
Your Deck Level increases with each draw and hand played out. Your deck
level influences a lot of things. The number of cards you have unlocked in
your deck (the total pool of cards you can draw from), as well as how
large your hand can be, up to 5. The amount of shards you can have. It
unlocks access to your racial transformations.
You may notice that you don't have the same pool of cards as another player.
You will unlock cards in a random order, but by the time you get to max
deck level you will both have all the possible cards unlocked.
Pocket aces will unlock at level 5, and you can have up to 4 additional
hands by level 22. Pocket aces lets you save your current hand to use
later. The intention being that you can save the perfect gaining hand
for a Toriyama's Blessing or perhaps have a PVP hand to dunk on some
lame Bio-android.
Shards, another resource! Shards are another usable resource outside of
the divination. You gain these by using your abilities and can be spent
on one off tricks like mana mend, thought reading, and sixth sense.
Mana mend heals you. Thought reading detects "real PL" and LF, and sixth
sense can detect ambushes.
You can grant a vision to another player, giving yourself a buff, as well
as the target, for damage and critical strikes. You can only grant this
buff to someone when you have a full hand of 5 cards. This also shifts
your Cartomancy alignment positively.
Forms are unlocked through thoughtcraft at deck level 5, 10, and 15.
The fate pool is another mechanic that adds to the general chance of
other server wide events. This doesn't necessarily increase the chance
of them happening, but bends the chance of the things happening towards
the better and rarer rolls.
Fate is increased in 3 categories. People, Universe, and Abstraction.
People increases pabs. Universe increases kabs. And abstraction is gharms.
These max out at 1000 points, and reset with each roll. The idea is that
you can globally see which one to work towards by drawing specific cards
if you'd like.
