*===============================SYNTAX=================================*
Keywords: Syntax
In the DBI world a syntax is a word or set of words that when sent
to the MUD will execute a command or action. In our codebase you can
shorten most syntaxes to accomplish the same command. However if two
words share the same beginning letters it may try to perform the
incorrect command. But this can be avoided by surrounding the
command with apostrophes (').
For example: Entering ki burst without apostrophes would make the
MUD think you are trying to Kill Burst, as the Kill command begins
with the same two letters. The MUD looks at the kill command as a
priority. You can circumvent this by entering 'ki burst', and you
can also further shorten this by using an alias.
Another great feature of the MUD is the support of shortening almost
any command, including multi word commands using apostrophes.
For example: Instead of writing out "kill saiyan" you can shorten
this command to "k saiyan" or even further "k s". However, it is
usually advised to use more than one letter so you don't end up
attack the wrong enemy!
Commands like "ki burst", and other multi word commands,
will need to have at least one apostrophe before the command to
execute the command. Such as 'ki b (for "ki burst") or 'ki h (for ki
heal). It is still highly suggested that you create aliases to
ease the pain your fingers will endure from typing. (haha)
