In order to apply for a position on the DBI staff, you must follow the
new and improved procedure of application.
The first step in applying for a position on the staff, is to write up a
personal note to the staff. This portion of the application process will
tell the administrators what kind of person you are, how you behave and
what your attitude is when dealing with other people.
It should indicate the following:
Your MUD name. The position you are applying for. (Builder/RP Admin)
Your real first name. A description of your personality, attitude and work
ethic.
This note can be as long or as short as you want it to be. Make sure you
include everything you want the staff to know about you. The staff will
then meet and discuss what kind of attitude they have seen from you in the
past.
Past behaviors are very important and will have a bearing on the decision
to hire you. Be good.
If you are successful, you will be asked to partake in the second part of
the application process. The second part of the application process is an
in person interview with the head of the department you are applying for.
During this interview, the head administrator of said department will learn
a little more about your personality, your skills and your general
leadership abilities.
An interview with a potential builder may include a quick
test/demonstration of your building skills in real time.
An interview with a potential RP Admin may include a quick RP with the
administrator.
NOTE:
Your actual skill and your potential skill are two completely different
things. Just because you aren't 100% efficient in your techniques doesn't
mean you don't have a chance. Someone with a great attitude and little
skill can be taught and trained in their specific field.
As you may have already noted from the first part of the application
process, the only two postitions you can apply for are Builder and RP
Admin. All other positions are promotions after the initial hire.
The staff are always accepting applications, they may not always be hiring,
but it gives them a chance to consider you.
Even if the staff doesn't get back to you the same day you hand in your
application, it doesn't mean they don't know you exist. Don't pester, they
will eventually get back to you once a consensus has been reached.
Note: You want to send your personal Gnote addressed either to the head
of that department or to admin.
NOTE: It is typically required of a builder to first build an area on
DBI:BA to show that they have what it takes to put an area in DBI, if you
wish to apply then first request to be made an admin there.
NOTE: We would like to know you before you apply, in meaning, play the
game get a good pl, write a bio, get it authed, before you apply. We want
good staff, but we also want to KNOW that you are good staff before we hire
you. If you log on and apply right away, there is a very very small chance
you will be hired. Hint: Make us like you, that'll help a lot, show that
you are helpful to newbies and oldbies alike, don't be a jerk, post good,
solid, thought out and explained ideas, these things will help you out when
you apply.
