HOW GAIN STATS?
There's been much confusion about how stat gaining works and what is the
most efficient way to do so.
I'd like to provide some information about how the comparison of PL
and Stats works with gaining stats.
Each stat has a hidden progress pool. When it reaches its threshold,
permanent stat gains +1:
STR: pushup, landed physical attacks.
SPD: shadowbox, landed physical attacks (minor), successful dodges.
SPR: focuski, landed ki attacks.
FRT: situp, taking landed attacks, successful blocks.
Every workout costs 2.5% of max energy per round.
Working out for longer in one session does provide a minor increase.
STR gain compares your STR to target FRT.
SPR gain compares your SPR to target FRT.
SPD gain compares your SPD to target SPD.
FRT gain compares your FRT to attacker STR for melee, or attacker SPR for ki.
The growth is divided by that ratio:
Your stat at or below half theirs: maximum 2x gain.
Equal relevant stats: normal gain.
Your stat 1.5x theirs: reduced to 2/3.
Your stat at least 2x theirs: zero combat gain
Power Level Matters
PL affects both eligibility and defense odds:
Stat gain against an NPC stops entirely when your PL is over 5x the mob's.
Against a non-spar player it stops when your PL is over 2x theirs.
Being below roughly 1.5x the opponents PL can give extra combat
stat gain when you are at low HP, with larger bonuses for
Saiyan/Half-Breed cases.
For dodge/block chance, defender PL divided by attacker PL is a multiplier,
capped between 0.25x and 2x.
So for pure combat stat efficiency, fight something with the relevant
opposing stat at least double yours, while still being able to safely
produce the needed result.
For example, out PL something by x4.99 but have half their stats.
Dodge / Block
They matter most for their respective defensive stat and survival:
A successful dodge awards SPD.
A successful block awards FRT.
A dodge/block prevents the attackers hit from landing, so it denies
their STR or SPR gain from that attack.
Chance is driven by stats and PL:
Dodge: defender SPD / attacker SPD, multiplied by defender PL / attacker PL.
Block against melee: defender FRT / attacker STR, multiplied by PL ratio.
Block against ki: defender FRT / attacker SPR, multiplied by PL ratio.
Both ratios are capped, and stance changes the base chance:
Evasive: best dodge chance and +20% combat SPD growth.
Defensive: best block chance and +20% combat FRT growth.
Berserk: +20% combat STR growth.
Aggressive: +20% combat SPR growth.
Optimize it by:
Use a target whose PL is at least 20% of yours, so you remain under
the NPC 5:1 no-gain cutoff.
Keep your relevant stat at no more than half the targets matching
opposing stat.
Use the matching combat stance.
Use a target that repeatedly delivers tier-5 attacks for SPD/FRT,
or can survive repeated tier-5 hits for STR/SPR.
Avoid multiple-enemy fights: normal combat growth drops with 2+
opponents. (some situations might make multi-mob better)
Stack applicable stat-growth gear and account/race bonuses.
Train during double-train/double-double events, which double gains;
dragon gain events add 50%.
Avoid death-timer, hardcore, and applicable race penalties.
