The Bear Forest is a wild ecosystem nestled in the valley south of
Sector 8 and is home to a diverse range of fauna.  Most notable of the
creatures who make this forest their home is the steel-claw bear for which
the forest takes its namesake.  The Bear forest has become the subject of
many rumors in the past several years and the EDF (Earth Defence
Force) has warned travelers to not stray far from the path unless they
are properly prepared to defend themselves.  Some of the rumors would
indicate that groups of Meta-humans use the forest and surrounding
mountains as their training grounds, and some years back the Bear Forest
was the site of the famous battle between the Wraiths (Lead by the
legendary Space Pirate, Dumastin) and the android villain Red Shot.
The Forest is also known for having been the location of a secret base of
operations for the notorious "Shadow" and his disciples which included
among their ranks the swordmaster mercenary Raburn  the mad genius
Vergil and "overlord" Telarr.
